Parents of Gender Non-Conforming Children Speak Out For Tolerance

Letters to Sponsors: To State Farm Insurance

Dear Ms. Fones:
As a decades-long customer of State Farm Insurance, it is my hope that you will remove your sponsorship from KRXQ Sacramento.
During a May 28 show, one of the three hosts on KRXQ’s “Rob, Arnie & Dawn” show said he would hit his son with his shoe if he put on high heels.  Another said he would tell a boy he was “a little idiot” if he asked to wear a dress.  They went on to encourage violence against any child that did not conform to their idea of gender norms.
These guys figured they could call us, the parents of non-conforming children, rotten worthless, weak and crazy—and get away with it. They didn’t need to apologize.  Rather, they went on to say the next day that it was just a joke.  The station manager has refused to reprimand them.
It is NEVER justified to encourage bigotry and violence against children.  Inciting violence is NOT a joke.
I certainly hope that State Farm Insurance does not condone such actions.
